Omega Signal

Scan strange signals, investigate other worlds, and decide how much of yourself to risk in a story-rich exploration roguelike.

THE FRAME IS OPEN.

SOMETHING
IS LISTENING.
DEEP-BAND RECEIVER / OMEGA SIGNAL

The machine in your garage works. That may be the beginning of the problem.

You built a portal frame from scavenged parts and a theory nobody peer-reviewed. Now your receiver is picking up signals from beyond it. Some lead to resources. Some lead to technology that could change everything. Some lead to things that would prefer to know your address.

Omega Signal is a prose-driven exploration roguelike about curiosity, limited resources, and the consequences of making contact. Your workshop is the center of a much larger story. Every trip through the frame can change what is waiting when you return.

Listen first. Decide what to send.

Sweep the bands, examine the signal board, and choose a destination. A probe can help you understand what is out there. A drone can bring something back without putting you in the doorway. A personal crossing puts a living explorer on the other side—and your own survival at risk.

Those choices are not interchangeable. Information, cargo, equipment, and a human life carry different costs. Better instruments can make a signal easier to read, but they cannot turn every discovery into a safe one.

Keep the lights on.

The impossible still has a power bill. Sell minerals, improve your equipment, and keep enough money in reserve for the next crossing. A promising discovery is only useful if you can afford to investigate it and get home.

Upgrade the workshop to open new options. Save the rarer finds for deeper exploration, or sell what you need to keep the night going. The decision to press farther is always competing with the decision to remain solvent.

Bring home more than a haul.

Worlds have histories. Encounters can become obligations. A bargain that solves tonight’s problem may be waiting for you several jumps later. Characters, discoveries, and unfinished business follow their own threads through a run.

Meanwhile, attention builds. Your machine lets you look outward, but you are not the only thing capable of noticing a signal. The tension comes from reading the situation, remembering your promises, and deciding when a discovery is worth another knock at the door.

Know when to close the door.

A run can lead to more than one ending. Chase the discoveries, take another dangerous bargain, or retire on your own terms. The Ledger records your decisions, while run reports and Memory Fragments give the night a history beyond its final outcome.

Return to a fresh sky, try the daily seed, or change the difficulty. Familiar equipment can lead to unfamiliar consequences when the next set of signals comes through.

Inside the signal

  • Three approaches to exploration: investigate with probes, send drones, or cross in person.
  • A workshop worth protecting: manage money, power, resources, and equipment upgrades.
  • Stories with a memory: unfolding encounters, bargains, obligations, and discoveries.
  • Consequences you can trace: the Ledger, run reports, multiple endings, and persistent records.
  • Different nights: seeded exploration, a daily sky, and selectable difficulty.

One more signal. Then you will turn it off.

Keep exploring.
